Library Services for Online Students

The purpose of this research guide is to highlight library services offered to University of Mary online students.

Step One-Finding Books Near You

The WorldCat database allows you to search for library holdings at libraries worldwide. You can use WorldCat to find books in your area. WorldCat allows you search for books, journals, primary and archival resources, and other material owned by libraries near you. It also may be beneficial to use the libraries in your community to help you find needed resources.

Step Two-Interlibrary Loan

Online students must fill out a registration form in order to use Interlibrary Loan: Registration. Once you create an account, you may log in and use the account for requesting resources held at the Welder library. You will be able to:

  • Submit request(s)
  • Track request(s)
  • Check due dates
  • Renew items
  • View borrowing history
  • Access material delivered electronically

Online students must use ILLIAD to request books and media held by Welder library or other libraries.  It is vital all students, both on campus and online students, establish an ILLIAD account to obtain needed library materials.  Books and media requested by online students will be forwarded to students by mail. Online students are responsible for return postage to return the item to Welder Library. Please send the book back to Welder Library using the address listed below:
