Childhood Education International is a non-profit organization that works for "children’s access to quality education worldwide." They offer "programs and projects that support pre-primary to primary school-age children so they can learn, grow, and develop optimally" (Childhood Education International, n.d.).

 

The National Association for the Education of Young Children

NAEYE promotions educational readiness for children from birth to eight-years old. They also support the development for early childhood professionals.

American Federation of Teachers

"The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) is a union of professionals that champions fairness; democracy; economic opportunity; and high-quality public education, healthcare and public services for our students, their families and our communities" (AFT, n.d.).

 

The Assocition for Experiential Education (AEE) promotes direct experience and reflection increase students' "knowledge, skills, values, and capacity to contribute to their communities" (AEE, 2022).

 

Computer-Using Educators

Cumputer-Using Educators hosts conferences, events and engages in advocacy to connect teachers with technological resources.

 

This organization is a resource for "those who enhance the growth and development of gifted and talented children through education, advocacy, community building, and research" (National Association for Gifted Children, n.d.).

 

National Education Association

The National Education Association is "the biggest and loudest advocate" for schools, students, and teachers (NEAb, 2022). Students can go through this website to find their state organizations. The state student organization insures students for up to $100,000,00, so it is well worth the membership.

The Association for Middle Level Education provides best practice, professional development, and evidence-based resources for middle school educators.

The Association for Persons with Severe Handicaps

National Center for Learning Disabilities

The National Center for Learning Disabilities engages in political advocacy, research, and youth outreach to maximize the potential of all persons with learning and attention issues.

National Science Teaching Association       

NSTA offers lesson plans, eBooks, books, and journals to biology and chemistry teachers of all grade levels, from early childhood to postsecondary education. 

 

National Art Education Association

The National Art Education Association is the leading professional membership organization exclusively for visual arts, design, and media arts education professionals. Members include preK through university art educators, researchers, teaching artists and students. 

 

Society of Health and Physical Educators

SHAPE creates the national standards for health and physical education, in addition to promoting active, healthy lifestyles. At this point, SHAPE has given out over $600,000 in grant monies for research.

 

National Association of Biology Teachers

NABT supports biology and life science teachers through professional advocacy, annual conferences, and awarding teachers for their subject expertise.

This professional organization "advocates for equitable access for all students to the highest quality public education, and develops and supports school system leaders" (AASA, 2022).
