Finding Books

Central Dakota Library Network Catalog

The Central Dakota Library Network Catalog (CDLN) is a circulation program that allows students to find books from Welder Library and surrounding libraries. Students can order books from other CDLN libraries by placing holds.

How to Use

  • To begin, register your MCard. On campus users of Welder Library must register their MCard at the Circulation Desk (front desk). Users will create a 4-digit PIN. Once completed, students can borrow books and media.
  • Online students have access to books and media through the Interlibrary Loan service (ILLIAD).
  • Search the collections online with the Central Dakota Library Network.
  • Use the search box to find books and/or media.
  • Select a record by clicking on its title.
  • At the bottom of the record, it will state whether the item is available in Welder Library or a Central Dakota Library Network Library.
  • If the item is available in Welder, students can check it out with their Mcard. If the item is not located in Welder Library, but located at a Central Dakota Library Network library, on campus students and faculty may request it by clicking on "Place Hold."
  • From there, you will be taken to a login box where you will enter the 14-digit bar code number on the back of your Mcard. You will enter your PIN, as well.
  • Next, the book will be transported to Welder Library. You will receive a text message or email once the item is ready for pickup. Items are held at the Circulation Desk.

You can access academic eBooks through the Welder Library resources.
