In accordance with copyright law, copies of materials (copied portions of books, articles, and media) placed on reserve may not be on active reserve for more than one year. After one year, permission must be obtained from the copyright holder for a copy to remain on reserve beyond one year. This policy affects copies only. Published book, videos, etc., may remain on reserve as needed.

Course reserve materials are set aside each semester by instructors for a specific academic course or other use by students. Course reserve materials may consist of books, media, or copies of articles or portions of books (e.g. chapters). Course reserve materials must be placed on reserve at the beginning of the semester. Material on course reserve may not be on reserve any longer than one semester; a fresh Course Reserve Form must be submitted at the beginning of each semester to reserve materials. Course reserve materials may be checked out by students for in-library use only.
Place Course Materials on Reserve
To place items on reserve, faculty must fill out a Course Reserve Form. Faculty may pick up a paper copy at the Library Circulation Desk or it can be downloaded here. Follow the directions on the Course Reserve Form.
